Onboarding

Updated over 5 months ago

Onboarding is the first step in integrating employees into your company’s HR system. It ensures that each team member is properly registered, assigned the correct role, and linked to the relevant policies, approval flows, and national calendars.

CrewBoard provides two methods for onboarding employees:

Add Employee Manually

This method allows administrators or HR personnel to enter all employee information directly into the system. It's best used when:

  • You want full control over personal and employment details.

  • The employee is not available to complete the process themselves.

  • The hire needs to be set up in advance, before first login.

Manual entry includes:

  • Personal information (contact details, address, emergency contact, etc.)

  • Employment details (contract, position, supervisor, approval flow, etc.)

  • Leave policies and entitlements (vacation, sick leave, personal days)

  • Role and access level in the application

Invite Employee via Email

This method allows you to send an invitation directly to one or more employees, enabling them to create their own profile. It's ideal when:

  • You want to delegate part of the onboarding process to the employee.

  • You're onboarding a large group and want to reduce admin effort.

  • Employees already have company email addresses and will complete their own setup.

Admins just need to:

  • Enter one or more company email addresses

  • Send the invitation

  • Monitor user activation and complete the setup afterward if needed
