Approval flows

This section covers setting up approval flows and how notifications keep everyone informed.

Updated over 5 months ago

In this section, administrators or HR managers can create one or more approval flows, typically organized by team, department, or project.

Each workflow must include at least one person responsible for reviewing requests. You can also assign a backup reviewer if needed. When a request is submitted, it moves through the workflow in sequence: each person is notified when it's their turn to review. Once the final step is completed, the employee receives confirmation that the request has been approved.

After creating a workflow, it can be assigned to one or multiple employees, depending on your organizational structure.

When an employee submits an absence request, the first approver in the approval chain is notified through both in-app notifications and email. This ensures they are promptly aware of pending requests.

Once the first approver has reviewed and approved the request, the next approver in the sequence (if there is one) will similarly receive an email and an in-app notification prompting them to review.

This continues until the final approver has given their decision. When the request is fully approved, the employee will receive a notification confirming their absence has been approved.

The same flow applies if the request is declined at any point: the employee will be notified immediately of the decision.

This notification system ensures that each approver is only contacted when it becomes their turn in the workflow, reducing unnecessary emails and keeping everyone informed at the right time.
